I’ve always been after the perfect chocolate chip cookie. It’s been a personal passion ya might say to share them with others. With everything happening in the world these days, it’s hard to make space for something even as simple as baking cookies. I anxiously check the news/ wonder what things will be like in a month or a year or ten years. I see people in danger and my heart breaks. There is little that feels certain, and I find myself grasping for reality. I feel like I keep coming back to these keystone actions, like baking my chocolate chip cookie recipe. The smell and the motions are a comfort and grounding in times when I feel spent. I hope you find some comfort today. Don’t forget the huge power of your peaceful heart. Your daily acts of loving kindness will send ripples felt around the world. And if you are feeling like you have expressed every ounce of passion and care your heart can muster, take a break from the news and rest until the sun rises again. We are stronger than we know— especially together.

1 c butter
1 c sugar

2 eggs
